6 September 2012, Singapore – Resorts World Sentosa will present the world premiere of an original multi-million dollar theatrical magic show featuring Superstar Illusionist Joe Labero at the 1,600 seater Festive Grand Theatre from 8 November 2012 till 10 March 2013 replacing its resident show Voyage de la Vie.

You can expect Gothic and fantasy-inspired styled lavish sets, costumes, vocals and choreography, special effect and magical illusions. Catch the Double Levitation which features the Sorcerer suspending his subject 10 metres above the stage as well as the six metre tall steel Blade Runner.  The Wheel of Death is a challenging feat that stands at at 12 metres tall.  Four performers from the Shengyang Acrobatic Troupe walk, run and jump on the spinning wheel.

Miss Oon Shu An from Singapore plays the Seeker who discovers an abandoned monastery and befriends the Sorcerer (Joe Labero), meets the whimsical Jester and gets in the middle of the fearful evil Dungeon Master and the Good Sorcerer.

The Sorcerer battles the Dungeon Master in the finale and rescues the Seeker

Joe Labero is a three-time recipient of the Merlin Award and Incanto is performed by an international cast of 50 performers.  Joe is a magic master, illusionist, celebrity, performer and TV personality.   Being one of the top five magicians in the world, Joe has received multiple awards including Merlin Award Society’s ‘Illusionist Showman of the Decade”.  He is one of the few to perform dangerous illusions including The Bullet Catch that has claimed the lives of 12 performers, The Exploding Box where he escaped from a wooden crate hung 30 metres above crowds in two minutes and The Escape Routine which he performed to over 100,000 spectators in Sweden and a global TV audience of over 200 million.

LASALLE College of the Arts graduate, Oon Shu An plays The Seeker .  Shu An is a founding member of TheatreStrays a physical theatre group and has worked with The Necessary Stage as well as performed in shows such as Paper Boat and The King Lear Project.  She starred in an Indie film Becoming Royston, The Kitchen Musical, Journey West and Love in a Cab.   She currently hosts a weekly web series on clicknetwork.tv called Tried and Tested where she reviews beauty products.

Chad O’Brien is The Sorcerer’s nemesis – The Dungeon Master.  This villainous role is played by the Australian fellow graduate of the acting course at LASALLE College of the Arts.  He completed the Shakespeare Summer Programme at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.  He has performed in may production in Singapore including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Exit the King and Middletown.

The Jester is played by Petro Horodtskyy who is versed in Juggling, Equilibre, Magic, Acrobatics and Mime.  He has worked in international circuses around the world including The State Circus Company of Ukraine and Circus “OVACIA” in Belarus.

The Guardians are played by the Shenyang Acrobatic Troupe who have won multiple global awards including gold prizes at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de L’Avenir and Gold and Silver Clown awards at the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival.

The dancers comprise of an international group of dancers and rhythmic gymnasts from Ukraine, UK and Australia.

The music in the production is composed by Singapore’s music composer Jonathan Lim.  Jonathan has composed scores for award-winning movies and commercial jingles as well as “The Singapore Story” and Universal Studio Singapore’s Pyrotechnic Effects Show.

Getting Tickets

The show is performed from Thursdays to Mondays at 8pm with an additional 4pm matinee show on Saturdays and Sundays.  Public preview tickets will be staged on 4 and 5 November 2012. Tickets to Incanto are priced at S$148, S$98, S$88, S$78, S$48 and are available at SISTIC outlets, www.sistic.com.sg, the Festive Grand Ticketing and Gift Shop or www.rwsentosa.com.
