Clarke Quay – Kirin Ichiban Festival 4 & 5 November 2011

3 November 2011, Singapore – This Friday and Saturday, immerse in the best of Japanese beer, music and food with Kirin Ichiban. This is the first time Kirin beer is organizing this festival that will be held at Clarke Quay Central Fountain Square from 7pm to 11pm. The theme for the festival is “Modern Expression of Japanese Authenticity”

Some of Japan’s biggest international acts will be present as well. Popular breakbeats duo HIFANA which is made up of KEIZOmachine! and JUICY will take to the main stage. A Japanese shamisen band, Kuni-Ken will elevate traditional Japanese music through the redefinition of the conventional shamisen sound into one with that appeals to the modern ear.

Master Takahiro, world-renowned New York based Japanese dancer, will be giving an exclusive performance at the Kirin Ichiban Festival featuring once-in-a-lifetime collaborations with both Kuni-Ken and HIFANA!.

Kirin Ichiban is made from the unique First Press Process with only the finest ingredients pressed just once to produce a 100% malt beer that is rich, clear, refreshing and definitive. Its heritage dates back to 1888.

Enjoy the food from Beer Market, Indochine, Hooters, Shiraz and Vintry. I tried some of the food on Monday and paired them with Kirin Beer. Check out the Nem Khao Hor Temaki (Roasted rice cake with marinated minced chicken, coriander, mint leaves, bird eye chilli and spring onion, wrapped in rice paper and nori cone) or Crispy Shishamos and Golden White Bait from Indochine, Hooter’s Samurai Sauce Chicken Wings, or Beer Market’s Mushroom Tempura. These, amongst many other delectable dishes, can be purchased at the event. So head down and have a great time this weekend.

This festival is for ticket holders only. Tickets, worth S$350 each, were given out previously to Kirin Ichiban fans during a promotion from 21 to 29 October at Clark Quay as well as at 7-Eleven stores.
