Vie Hotel Bangkok Deluxe Suite 2308 – The Living Room
Three of us from Team SUPERADRIANME stayed at the VIE Hotel Bangkok’s Deluxe Suite (Room 2308) from 3 to 5 July 2015 for an offsite and mini vacation.
I had taken advantage of Accorhotels Super Sale and booked the rooms and paid for two nights for a three-night stay. I always make it a point to look out for the Accorhotels Super Sale which happens a few times in a year as the deals can be fantastic if you can plan your trip early. As a Le Club Accorhotels member (now known as Accor Live Limitless), Accorhotels’ loyalty programme, you get an early notification so that you can make your bookings even before it opens up to the general public.
As a Platinum Le Club Accorhotels member, I was upgraded to the next room category which was this spacious deluxe suite on level 23. The Deluxe Suite offers a spacious living room and separate bedroom.  Thought what was missing was a toilet in the living room, which is present in most suites these days.
The living room gave a homely feeling. Ample seating space on the sofas with many Jim Thompson cushions and two leather seats allows for quite a number of people to chat or enjoy a movie together. We also managed to fit a roll-away bed into the living room.
A work desk with electrical power points had views of Siam Kempinski, Siam Paragon and Central World.
Complimentary coffee and tea are provided to guests in the Deluxe Suite and smoking within the hotel is a no-no but there are designated areas for that.
The air conditioning in the suite is very strong which is a plus point. However, a balcony would have been ideal.
The Bedroom
The bedroom was spacious with a queen bed, space for your luggage, a seat by the floor-to-ceiling windows and a cabinet to hang your clothes as well as to keep your valuables secured in the safe.
The Bathroom
A separate bathtub and shower area with rain showers give you a choice of how you want to pamper your body. A cold soak may be ideal in Bangkok’s hot weather. Bath salts compliments of the hotel.
The hotel provides in-house toiletries (hand wash, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion) in dispensers. We kinda remember a rather dull fruity fragrance.
The View
The stunning view from the 23rd level was one of the buildings and bright blue skies. The sight of Siam Paragon has tempted us to get out of our room for some retail and food therapy.
Facilities at Vie Hotel Bangkok
Hotel Vie is a self-sufficient hotel with a plethora of activities for the active guest. Here you can visit a well-equipped fitness centre which is located next to the spa. Both the gym and spa are open to public through a membership scheme so the downside is they may sometimes get crowded.
The outdoor infinity pool is perfect for getting a tan as well. The hotel has thoughtfully provided sun screen, sunglasses, caps and even books for reading on loan. Yes, even we forgot to bring some of these on our trip.
But yes, a swim in Bangkok helps keep you cool.
Unfortunately, we didn’t spend much time dining in the hotel except for La Vie. But we checked out some of the dining spaces here.
Dining at La Vie
La Vie offers a fabulously value-for-money three-course French cuisine set lunch for THB739++. It comes with a starter, main course and dessert.
There is a choice of main courses which includes Spaghetti with Spicy Mentaiko and Smoked Salmon, Panzerotti Mushroom with Truffle Cream, 150 days, Grain-fed Rib Eye steak with truffle puree and beef jus, Roasted yellow corn-fed baby chicken and ratatouille with mustard cream, duck confit, snow fish and mushroom ragout, braised Australian Beef Cheek with potato puree and others.
End your divine meal with a dessert.
Verdict
I will return and stay here again when I next visit Bangkok. The staff have made me feel very at home when I stayed here. The rooms are comfortable and clean. More importantly, it is in a good location.
