Use the Accor Key Digital Key to Get into Your Room at Pullman Singapore Orchard

Accor may be late in implementing digital key for room access, rolling out the Accor Key app only in 2021. It is better late than never. Digital key cards reduce the plastic used for traditional key cards and cardboard for the keyholder.

Starwood launched the SPG Keyless in November 2014 before it became part of the Marriott group and Hilton launched their digital key in 2015 and then introduced shareable digital room keys in 2021. I have used digital keys during my stays at Conrad Centennial Singapore, W Hong Kong and Hilton Singapore Orchard.

Accor has rolled out its digital key solution in line with the Group’s strategy to provide a contactless guest journey without losing the human touch that guests require. Accor has partnered with STAYmyway to equip all new Accor hotels with Accor Key and then extend to existing properties. Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi (Vietnam), Pullman Singapore Orchard and Swissôtel Clark (Philippines) are piloting Accor Key in Southeast Asia. An Accor spokesperson shared there will be a larger rollout scheduled for the region this year to get at least 30-40 properties offering the solution.

The newly opened Pullman Singapore Orchard is the first Accor property in Singapore to implement this digital key solution. A few days before checking in, Pullman Singapore Orchard emailed me to download the Accor Keys app.

Guests can download the Pullman Singapore Orchard mobile app to upload their passport information page and a selfie to check-in. The two apps are independent of each other. So you don’t need to download the Pullman Singapore Orchard mobile app. You can still check in at the hotel kiosk and generate a digital key.

I downloaded the Accor Key mobile app on my iPhone. That gave me access to the Club Residence area and my room on level 4. Just turn on the app, tap on open and enter.

Additional digital keys can be generated for your room guest. If you registered your room guest and email address for that guests, an email would have been sent for them to download the Accor Key.

Accor will progressively implement the solution for selected hotels undergoing refurbishment and new openings. Currently, a few hotels are piloting the solutions across Southeast Asia, Japan & South Korea.

Guests can download the Accor Key app on Apple Store or Google Play.

While Accor Key is a great initiative, integrating this function into the Accor ALL app that allows guests to book rooms, check in and access their rooms with a digital key seamlessly will make it an even more convenient user experience.
