United Airlines will introduce thrice weekly nonstop flights on its Boeing 787-9 between San Francisco and Hangzhou, China from 15 July 2016, subject to government approval.
Hangzhou will be the airline’s fifth mainland China city it flies to as well as the first U.S. airline to serve the city. Hangzhou will be the 14th destination in Asia Pacific to be served nonstop by United from its San Francisco hub.
UA 893 will depart Hangzhou’s Xiaoshan International Airport at 11.30am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and arrive in San Francisco International Airport at 8.25am the same days. The return flight UA982 will depart San Francisco at 2.15pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and arrive in Hangzhou at 6.10pm the following days. The flights take approximately 11 hours 55 minutes eastbound and 12 hours 55 minutes westbound.
United’s B787-9 Dreamliner is configured with 48 seats in United BusinessFirst (Business Class) in a 2-2-2 configuration and 204 in United Economy, including 88 Economy Plus seats with more legroom and increased personal space.
The Hangzhou flights will be served by Mandarin-speaking flight attendants as well as feature personalised inflight entertainment options including Chinese Language services and a selection of inflight meals and beverages including Chinese-style cuisine.
Last month, United celebrated 30 years of service to China.

It plans to operate seasonal nonstop flights from Xi’an to San Francisco between 10 May and 29 October 2016 (eastbound), subject to government approval.
