United Airlines has 100 aircraft in its fleet that are Wi-Fi Internet enabled, offering satellite WI-Fi on more long-haul overseas flight than any other American carriers. The airline is outfitting around 30 aircraft monthly and expects 200 aircraft to be equipped with the service by end of this year.
Satellite Wi-Fi is currently offered on United Airline’s 13 Boeing 747 aircraft which fly international routes to and from San Francisco, as well as routes to and from Los Angeles. More than half of its combined fleet of Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft operating in North America is equipped with satellite Wi-Fi while its entire fleet of Boeing 757 transcontinental p.s. Premium Service aircraft that operates between New York Kennedy and Los Angeles or San Francisco offer air-to-ground internet connectivity.

Look for the Wi-Fi logo on the side of the plane as you board or listen for the announcement by your flight crew once your flight has reached 10,000 feet. United Wi-Fi pricing will vary based on the length of the flight.
In-Flight Entertainment
United Airlines offer live television (DirectTV In Flight) on 200 of its aircraft and plans to equip those aircraft with satellite Wi-Fi. This Fall, the airline plans to introduce its first Boeing 737 aircraft equipped with Ka-band satellite technology into service. United Airlines will also be rolling-out Wi-Fi-enabled wireless entertainment to an eventual 200 aircraft which includes A319s and A320s, Boeing 747 and other fleets by mid next year. With this rolled out, passengers can enjoy on demand programming from a library of more than 150 movies and close to 200 television shows.
