United Airlines increased its order of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to 65 aircraft including six new 787-8s that have been delivered previously. United Airlines ordered another 20 B787-10s, becoming North America’s launch customer for the 787-10. The airline expects delivery of its first aircraft in 2018. United Airlines has ordered 10 incremental 787-10 aircraft and will convert 10 existing 787s on order to the 787-10s.
The Boeing 787-10 is a stretched version of the 787-9. It offers the lowest fuel burn per seat of any aircraft in its category and also up to 20% better fuel efficiency per seat than similarly sized aircraft because of the over 50% composite makeup of its structure. You can expect larger windows, overhead bins and lower cabin altitude with enhanced ventilation systems that reduce the effects of jet lag.
This order is in addition to United Airline’s order of 100 Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft, 50 Boeing 737-900 ER aircraft and 25 Airbus A350 aircraft. It is also modernising its United Express fleet with 70 76-seat Embrarer aircraft that will be operated by United Express regional partners.
United Airlines and United Express currently operates an average of 5,446 flights a day to more than 370 airports across six continents. It recently introduced the 180-degree flat-bed seats and personal on-demand entertainment in its business and first class cabins on long-haul international flights departing from the New York area.
