The Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur recently got a fresh lease of life and had its official relaunch on 31 March 2016. The relaunch was officiated by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj. YTL Hotels has given the interiors a full refurbishment since it first opened 1 December 1997. The New York based Alexandra Champalimaud gave the interiors a fresh and modern yet elegant and timeless design.

I got to stay in a one-bedroom suite earlier this year. Regardless of which property under The Ritz-Carlton brand name, you get the same level of attention, service and comfort. I have stayed at The Ritz-Carlton hotels in Singapore and Hong Kong and I can attest to the impeccable service. The hotel also has another 364 guest rooms including 30 suites, 15 meeting rooms and five restaurants.

All rooms come with full butler service but I still prefer to unpack and pack my own suitcase. Wi-Fi is complimentary as expected in all five-star hotels here in Asia. Self-service coffee and tea making facilities are available in the room or you could just pick up the phone and call your butler to prepare one for you.

The one-bedroom suite is like a small apartment measuring 67 sqm without a kitchen and laundry facilities in a single unit. The living room has a sofa rest area with a 60 inch flat-panel HD television, a dining table for four and a redesigned workstation. The is an attached powder room in the living room.

The king bed in the bedroom is very comfortable with pillows that are just right for a good night’s sleep.

The separate powder room separates the bathrooms from the bedroom and walk-in wardrobe. The walk-in wardrobe is spacious and can fit your luggage. There are ample storage drawers as well as hangers.

The opulent marble bathroom is luxuriously spacious with separate toilet, bathtub and a rainforest shower head shower room. One of my favourites in any Ritz-Carlton property is its lush fluffy bath towels and bath robes. Bath salts are provided so you can enjoy a nice hot bath anytime.

75ml tubes of Asprey bath amenities are provided and these are one of my favourite brands when staying in a hotel. These London branded toiletries are standard Ritz-Carlton toiletries.
