British Airways officially opened the new British Airways Singapore lounge at Changi Airport Terminal 1. Located next to the SATS Premier Lounge and close to the Thai Airways lounge and Qantas Singapore Lounge, the new lounge is also the airline’s first lounge to offer the Concorde Bar to its FIRST customers outside its home country UK.
The grand opening was held at 11.30am this morning and was attended by trade partners and the media as they were given a tour of the lounge.
The lounge opens at 3pm and closes after the last British Airways departure of the day. British Airways operates twice daily flights. Customers flying on British Airways FIRST and Club World Business Class as well as British Airways Executive Gold and Silver members and oneworld Emerald and Sapphire frequent flyers can access the lounge.
First Concorde Bar outside UK
Imagine being in the movie Mission Impossible. All the gadgets and pin numbers and self destructions. Not that anything will self destruct here. Access into the Concorde Bar is so exclusive you need a pin number to enter.
And you have to be flying in First class to enjoy this special privilege. The Concorde Bar is a private recluse. The lighting in here is a relaxing dim, great when preparing for a red eye flight.
British Airways A380 can accommodate 14 First class customers in the open suites on the lower deck.
Step into the lounge and on the immediate right is the Concorde Bar, British Airways exclusive area for First class passengers and their guest. The only window to the outside world is a panoramic projection of the Singapore skyline which reflects the time of day.
The bar exudes a dimly lit comfortable environment. Help yourself to a selection of champagne and wines.
A selection of premium spirits and wines are available here. Grey Goose and Belvedere vodkas, Glenlivet 18, Bombay Sapphire are amongst some of the liquor available.
There are private cabins with individual television so you can rest and watch what you want to watch instead of sharing the programming with other guests.
Rest and Relax
For the rest of the customers not travelling in First class, there are different areas in an expansive area for you to find somewhere to while your time away before your flight.
The British Airways A380 which flies to Singapore features 97 flatbed seats in Club World business class. And oneworld Emerald or Sapphire passengers have a choice of going to the Qantas Lounge or the British Airways Singapore lounge.
There is a high stool area where you can get some work done or chat over a drink. Important to travellers of today, USB ports and power points are available throughout the lounge.
What I like about this lounge is the space. It does not get too crammed and you decide what kind of seating fits you. Hopefully it doesn’t get too crowded when a couple of oneworld flights depart from Changi Airport Terminal 1 with an influx of premium passengers and higher tiered oneworld members.
There is an entertainment zone close to the end of the lounge where you can watch the latest news.
Wine and Dine
A selection of hot food and salads are available at the lounge. Enjoy a cup of machine brewed coffee or teas, soft drinks or beer. What would have been great would be food prepared a la minute. The Qantas Singapore lounge has chefs on hand to prepare freshly prepared hot meal when you request for one.
Move to the next section and you would come to the wines and spirits area. Here you can make your own bloody mary.
Fresh fruits, chips and nuts are also available if you are looking to just snack.
Work Work Work
And if you need to get some last minute work done or emails replied, head to the end of the lounge where there is a shared work bench and a laser printer. Try not to get distracted by the entertainment area in the next section.
Refresh
Enjoy a nice hot shower in one of the six shower rooms located at the entrance of the lounge. These shower rooms come with an attached WC with enough space to change and freshen up. British Airways uses Elemis as its standard toiletries for business class in the lounge.

I am travelling to and from Singapore, with my wife, World Traveller Plus Booking Reference ****** starting 6th. February for a cruise. On 23rd February the cruise ship docks in the early morning and our flight BA0012 does not leave until 23.20 . I have Avois points.
It would be very helpful if we use the BA Lounge. How do we do this?
We are not sure if you can redeem Avios points for lounge access. You’ll need to contact your airline frequent flyer customer service to check with them.
