The Little Prince Park (Le Parc du Petit Prince) is the world’s first aerial park and is located in France, in the heart of Alsace between Colmar and Mulhouse in the Haut Rhin of Ungersheim. It opened its doors to the public on 1 July 2014.
The Little Prince, a literary phenomenon by Antoine de St Exupéry, was published in 1943. Over 150 million copies with translations in 285 languages have been sold with 13 million in France alone.
Antoine de St Exupéry was a legendary pilot, hero of the Aeropostale (patented in Alsace in 1921) and a writer. He died in France 70 years ago this month.
There are 31 attractions in the theme park that invite you to fly and travel from planet to planet in 2D, 3D and 4D with the Little Prince while you encounter animals. The Little Prince Park is for both kids and grown ups.
There are two giant tethered balloons that represent two of the Little Prince’s planets – Planet of the King and Planet of the Lamplighter. You can travel up to 150 metres above ground and admire the beautiful French scenery.
There is also the Aerobar of the Planet of the Drinker, which can take 15 passengers up in the air for a drink at 35 metres off the ground while hanging their feet in the sky. Other aeronautical themed attractions include The Aerousel carousel, Night Flight that simulates a journey on the epic conditions of the pilot without visibility or Southern Mail where young aeronauts carry their mail to the right continent or go aboard a real Antinov 2.
There is a butterfly breeding farm as well as a Dancing with the Sheep show hosted by Hobo, a border collie as well as Encounter with the Foxes where you can take photos of the four young foxes.
Tickets at 22 Euros for adults or 16 Euros for children under 12 are available on site or online at www.parcdupetitprince.com.
