The Vibe Hotel Adelaide of the TFE Hotels Group opened its doors to guests on 1 March 2023 just in time for the busy festival season of Adelaide Festival, WOMADelaide. One year on, we’ve got to stay at this 123-keys hotel in the Flinders East Precinct to experience WOMADelaide, Adelaide Festival and Adelaide Fringe, thanks to the South Australia Tourism Commission.
Vibe Hotel Adelaide is within walking distance to Rundle Mall, Central Market, The Garden of Unearthly Delights, while Adelaide Airport is only a 20-minute drive away.
The architect Loucas Zahos designed a vibrant millennial-driven hotel filled with energy. Rooms combine raw concrete ceilings with timber screens and panelling, profiled tiles to match the facade, with baths at the window edge of the room.
Indulge and immerse yourself in the warmth of a bubble bath in a bathtub with breathtaking views of Adelaide Hills or the vibrant cityscape below. Pamper yourself and make your stay in Adelaide a luxurious and comfortable one.
We spent three nights in an Urban Retreat Room King with an open-plan bath next to the Dreamcatcher Bed by TFE Hotels, which has views of the city. The 29 sqm room features photography of South Australian imagery from local artist Alex Frayne, a 55-inch Smart TV, Coffee Pod machine, mini bar and tea & coffee amenities as well as complimentary WiFi at 1Mbps for up to four devices and USB charging points.
Vibe Hotel Adelaide offers guests Australian-born Original & Mineral (O&M) bath products. O&M has garnered a dedicated following among both hairstylists and customers. Nearly two decades ago, Joyce Bryce Smith launched O&M, pioneering Australia’s first ammonia-free salon and advocating for low-chemical hair colouring as the salon industry’s future. Among the O&M offerings at Vibe Hotel Adelaide are the Hydrate & Conquer Colour-Safe Shampoo and Conditioner, along with their Hand & Body Wash.
Other room categories in this hotel include the lead-in Guest Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, and Premier Suites located from the Mezzanine to level 18. The exposed concrete ceilings throughout the building’s rooms and timber screens made of Tasmanian oak ensure light flows into the bathrooms.
The suspended heated pool and gym are located on level 1. The pool overlooks the alfresco dining area of Storehouse Flinders East restaurant. The compact plunge pool serves as a refreshing spot on hot days or a cosy retreat during cooler weather.
Sharing the ground floor with the lobby and check-in area is Storehouse Flinders East restaurant and bar. We had a very hearty French toast with honey loaf, maple syrup, berry compote and vanilla ice cream (AUD21) and Storehouse Breakfast eggs your way with chipolata, streaky bacon, mushrooms, tomato, avo mash (AUD29).
Happy Hours start from 4 to 6pm on Mondays to Saturdays when you can enjoy local wines for AUD8, bottled beer for AUD8 or signature cocktails for AUD15. Dinner is served from Mondays to Saturdays from 5 pm to 9 pm.
We were impressed by the bespoke lobby screens and 15 m-long artisan serpentine chandelier designed by local artist and metal worker Jeremy Herbert of Iron Edge Design on the ground floor. The high ceiling here provided a bigger sense of space.
TFE Hotels Group also has brands such as A by Adina, Amoy, Far East, The Barracks, The Clan, The Outpost, Village, Travelodge Hotels, Rendezvous, Oasia and Quincy amongst others.
