The Sentosa, A Beaufort Hotel at Sentosa Island in Singapore was renamed to what is known today as The Singapore Resort and Spa Sentosa has changed hands again and will be unveiled as Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort and Spa in the the third quarter of 2015.
The property has been acquired by Royal Group Development and refurbishment and renovations by DP Architect/DP Green Landscape have commenced. The interiors are handled by design house MaxStudio. The progressive refurbishment will include the rooms, public areas, spa facilities, conference rooms, landscaping and some back-of-house areas.
The hotel will have 215 rooms including suites and garden villas. Each room will be redesigned to reflect Hacienda style, organic, cosy, golden feel to complement the lush gardens of the property.
Each room comes with a 42-inch plasma TV, complimentary WiFi access and a spacious writing desk with dataports. Sleep comfortably with the down duvets, premium goose down and feather pillows. Suites offer higher luxury with the 32-inch LCD TV, Bose DVD/CD entertainment system, ergonomic swivel armchair with body conforming comfort, teddy bear textured Ploh robes and a rain shower. The Villas feature a spacious and modern living room, two separate bedrooms, a private terrace with manicured foliage and a pool.
The hotel will offer leisure facilities including two swimming pools, tennis, volleyball and badminton courts. Spa Botanica will be renamed So Spa featuring 14 treatment rooms, six outdoor spa pavilions and a spa garden.
In the interim before its transformation next year, the property has been temporarily renamed as The Singapore Resort and Spa Sentosa, Managed by Accor.
Accor currently has five hotels in its Group here in Singapore including Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay, Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, ibis Singapore Bencoolen, ibis Singapore Novena and the newly opened Sofitel So Singapore which was designed by Isabelle Miaja with finishing touches by Karl Lagerfeld.
As at May 2014, Sofitel has 120 hotels offering 31,000 guestrooms in 5 continents and 40 countries.
