The Singapore Airshow 2016 returns to the Changi Exhibition Centre this year and is open to public on 20 and 21 February 2016. Bombardier Commercial Aircraft will display its all-new CS100 aircraft on static display.
The CS100 aircraft is scheduled to be delivered to its launch customer SWISS International Air Lines and enter service in second quarter this year. SWISS’s flight crews kicked off their CS100 aircraft flight training in Mirabel, Québec on 21 January 2016. They are undergoing intensive training to prepare for the route – proving flights they will operate alongside Bombardier’s flight crew when the CS100 route-proving aircraft flies to Europe in the coming weeks.
In December last year, Bombardier received its Type Certificate from Transport Canada for the CS100 aircraft. A larger model, the CS300 aircraft is on track to obtain its Type Certificate within the next six months.
Bombardier’s C Series family of aircraft is a 100% all new design that offers airlines potential savings of between US$7.5 to 12 million per aircraft. The C Series aircraft delivers unparalleled economic advantage and open up new opportunities for single-aisle aircraft operations for 100 to 150 passengers. Noise performance testing has shown that the CS100 aircraft is the quietest in-production commercial jet in its class. The C Series aircraft’s maximum range is up to 3,300NM (6,112 km), some 350NM (648km) more than originally targetted.
The C Series is delivering more than a 20% fuel advantage compared to in-production aircraft, and a greater than 10% advantage compared to re-engineered aircraft. It will emit 50% fewer NOx emissions than the CAEP6*NOx emission standards.
Inside the aircraft, the seats, overhead bins and windows are larger creating a wide body feel. The CS100 and CS300 aircraft will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1500G engine.
Bombardier has booked orders and commitments for 603 C Series aircraft of which 243 are firm orders.
