From now, KrisFlyer Frequent Flyer members will be able to use their KrisFlyer miles to pay for Singapore Airlines and SilkAir flights booked through the singaporeair.com. Members can choose to mix miles and cash to pay for their next airfare, including payment for fuel surcharges and taxes. With a minimum of 5,000 miles to start using this feature, customers will have the opportunity to use their KrisFlyer miles earlier, and before they expire.
Other enhancements to the KrisFlyer programme have included the introduction of Saver awards on all flights. This includes First and Business Class on Boeing 777-300ER flights, as well as Suites and Business Class on Airbus A380 flights. Together with existing award redemptions, KrisFlyer members will now have more choice in using their miles on any available seat and flight on Singapore Airlines or SilkAir. KrisFlyer members can also use their miles to pay for air tickets for any of their five redemption nominees. From next year, members will be able to use their miles to cover the cost of fuel surcharges and taxes for redemption tickets, as well as other items such as preferred seats.
