Silkair will be launching thrice weekly services from Singapore to Vientiane and Luang Prabang in Laos in a circular routing from 31 October 2016. Flights will depart on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from Singapore for Vientane followed by Luang Prabang before heading back to Singapore.
The new services will be operated on the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft featuring both Business and Economy class cabins.
MI788 will depart Singapore at 2.20pm and arrive in Vientiane at 4.15pm. It departs Vientiane at 5.05pm and arrives at Luang Prabang at 6pm followed by departing Luang Prabang at 6.50pm and arrive in Singapore at 11.05pm the same day.
This new service will connect Laos with joint Singapore Airlines – SilkAir network of over 100 cities around the world via the Singapore hub. The number of destinations in SilkAir’s route network will also increase to 51 destinations in 14 countries including Australia, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.
Flights will be available for booking on a progressive basis through the SilkAir website, call centres and travel agents in the coming weeks.
Currently, you can fly to Luang Prabang via Vientiane, Krong Siem Reap or Bangkok with Lao Airlines, Thai Airways /Bangkok Airways, Thai AirAsia, Singapore/Bangkok Airways or Silkair/Vietnam Airlines.
Flights to Vientiane include Vietnam Airline’s via Ho Chi Minh, Thai Airways via Bangkok.
Lao Airlines operates direct flights on its Airbus A320 aircraft between Singapore and Vientiane departing Singapore at 2.15pm on Sunday and arrives at Vientiane at 4.05pm the same day. Laos Airlines flight QV535 departs Vientiane at 9.20pm and arrives in Singapore at 1.10pm. QV536 departs Singapore at 2.15pm and arrives in Vientiane at 4.05pm.
Flights are operated thrice weekly on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
