Royal Brunei Dreamliner 787

Royal Brunei Airlines, the national carrier of Brunei Darussalam, will be flying the Boeing 787 Dreamliner with its Rollys-Royce engines come October.  Royal Brunei Airlines have booked five Boeing 787 Dreamliners of which the arrival of the first Dreamliner signifies the airline’s completion of its rebranding exercise which it embarked on last year.

The first airline in South East Asia to fly the Dreamliner, Royal Brunei Airlines has scheduled the aircraft’s maiden flight from Brunei to Singapore on 18 October 2013, operating for two months on this route.  From 1 December 2013, the Dreamliner will fly to London, Heathrow from Brunei with a stopover in Dubai.  The Dreamliner can carry 210 to 290 passengers in a two-class configuration – Business and Economy. We hear that there will be 18 full flat beds in business class and 237 economy class seats in a 3-3-3 configuration with a pitch of 33-34′

The airline currently has a fleet of four A320s and two A319s. Their lease expires in the first quarter of 2015 or the same period in 2016.  Royal Brunei is considering replacing the six aircraft with the Airbus A319/A320 neo, Boeing 737 MAX, Bombardier CSeries or Embraer E190.
