Qatar Airways will introduce eight more destinations for 2017 and 2018 in addition to seven previously announced new cities for a total of 15 new gateways. The airline currently flies to 150 destinations on six continents around the world.
These seven previously announced destinations include:
- Canberra, the airline’s fifth destination in Australia
- Dublin, Ireland
- Las Vegas, the airline’s 11th destination in U.S.
- Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Santiago, Chile
- Medan, Kualanamu International Airport, Qatar Airways’ third destination in Indonesia
- Tabuk and Yanbu, the 9th and 10th destinations in Saudi Arabia
The eight new destinations announced on 28 November 2016 include:
- Auckland, New Zealand will start 5 February 2017 making it the world’s largest commercial flight
- Sarajevo, Bosnia
- Skopje, Macedonia
- Libreville, Gabon
- Nice, France
- Chiang Mai, the airline’s fourth destination in Thailand
- Douala, Cameroon
This year alone, the airline launched 12 new destinations with 2 more to be introduced in December:
- Los Angeles, US on 1 January
- Ras Al Khaimah, UAE on 2 February
- Sydney, Australia on 1 March
- Boston, US on 16 March
- Birmingham, UK on 30 March
- Adelaide, Australia on 2 May
- Yerevan, Armenia on 15 May
- Atlanta, US on 1 June
- Marrakech, Morocco on 1 July
- Pisa, Italy on 2 August
- Windhoek, Namibia on 28 September
- Helsinki, Finland on 10 October
- Krabi, Thailand on 6 December
- Seychelles, Seychelles on 12 December
