The Pan Pacific Hotel and Serviced Suites Ningbo first opened August 2012. I stayed in the Pacific Club rooms from 20 to 22 February 2014 during a media familiarisation trip organised by Tigerair and the Ningbo Tourism Board.
Located in the eastern new town of Ningbo in the Zhejiang province, the Pan Pacific Hotel and Serviced Suites Ningbo is surrounded by new government offices and corporations. In the neighbourhood is the Ningbo International Conference and Exhibition Centre, Ningbo International Financial Centre and the Ningbo Municipal People’s Government building.
Ningbo literally means “Tranquil Sea and Peaceful Waves” and is located at the middle part of China’s coastline and the south end of the Yangtze River delta. This coastal city houses many historic relics and remains.
Popular attractions in Ningbo include the Xikou scenic spot in Fenghua City featuring the Xikou Town, Xuedou Mountain, and Tingxia Lake as well as the Maitreya Buddha. The Lao Waitan or Old Bund integrates pubs, dance clubs, shopping and offices. The water holes often offer ‘live’ bands but may get noisy and smokey as smoking is allowed inside these pubs. Tianyi Square is the largest opn-area shopping mall in mainland China as well as the centre of Ningbo.
The Pan Pacific Hotel and Serviced Suites Ningbo houses 415 guestrooms and suites in the Pacific Tower and Ocean Tower – 126 Superior, 198 Deluxe, 12 Premier, 34 Pacific Club, 44 Pacific Club Suites and one Presidential Suite. All the rooms feature wireless high speed internet access, mini bar and coffee/tea making-facilities, LCD television with cable channels and movies on demand (English channels included) and in-room electronic safe.
The Serviced Suites Tower houses 175 guest rooms and suites from the fifth to nineteenth floor with in-room facilities such as washing machine, microwave and kitchenette so you can feel just the way you are used to at home.
The fitness centre has an indoor temperature controlled swimming pool, a tennis court, a squash court, a table tennis room, Sauna, Steam room, Gym and Aerobics room so that you can refresh and keep fit during your stay.
You will not go hungry at the Pan Pacific Ningbo. There are also Avanti Culina offering Italian cuisine, Cafe Pacifica, Keyaki for the Japanese palate, Hai Tien Lo offering well known Zhejiang specialities, a lobby lounge and a patisserie. We were treated to a feast in one of the private dining rooms with food prepared by the chefs of Hai Tien Lo.
The Pacific Club room which I stayed in was clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. The automatic heater kept the room warm when required while the temperature outside the room went down as low as 4 degrees celsius. Complimentary Lipton Jasmine tea helped me to sleep like a baby while the comfortable bed ensured that I had a good night’s rest.
I was glad the wi-fi in the rooms were strong and there was also a Philips iPad player so I could stream music from Spotify in the room. Could not ask for more. The overall experience at The Pan Pacific Hotel and Serviced Suites Ningbo was one of luxury with expansive space and comfort.
