Singapore Airlines is set to introduce direct flights connecting Singapore and Brussels starting April 5, 2024. This marks a significant return for Singapore’s national airline to the capital of Belgium, a gap of over two decades.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) plans to operate four weekly flights to Brussels using the long-haul version of its Airbus A350-900s. This aircraft can comfortably accommodate 253 passengers across three cabin classes: 42 in Business, 24 in Premium Economy, and 187 in Economy.
Brussels, renowned as the European Union’s hub, also hosts the Benelux secretariat and serves as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) headquarters. It stands as the most densely populated city in Belgium, boasting the highest gross domestic product (GDP) per capita. Due to its strategic geographic location, Brussels has earned the nickname “The Crossroads of Europe,” serving as a pivotal hub for rail, road, and air traffic.
Pending regulatory approvals, SQ304 will take off from Singapore to Brussels on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 11.55 pm (local time). The return journey, operated as flight SQ303, will depart Brussels for Singapore on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 12.10 am (local time).
This new route to Brussels expands Singapore Airlines’ European network to 13 destinations. The sale of tickets for SIA’s Brussels flights will be made available progressively through various distribution channels from 13 September 2023.
