From the brothers who brought you The LEGO Movie, Dan and Kevin Hageman transports LEGOLAND Malaysia into the world of Ninjago. Inspired by the hit TV series, Ninjago – Masters of Spinjitzu, this 20 minute Bunraku-styled puppet show is the first ever in all of LEGOLAND, and will officially debut on 28 August 2015!
Titled LEGO “Ninjago and The Realm of Shadows”, the story follows siblings Kai and Nya Smith as they save their YinYang Dragon, Bandit and Ninjago from the clutches of the evil Clouse and his Shadow Minions. The success of their mission is helped by special appearances from the rest of their crew; Jay, Cole, Llyod and Zane, but is only made possible with the help of – drumroll – the audience!
It will be more than just a plain old show. This live stage not only includes witty dialogues and prompts to get the audiences moving in their seats, but also, become the main stars as the story unfolds. No thanks to Sensei Wu’s cryptic instructions, of course.
The story would not have been able to come to live without the dedicated puppeteers. During any action scene, there would be two to three “ninjas” in the background bringing six of these l 1.2m tall characters to life. Despite being glaringly obvious, I could not help but marvel at how fluid the movements were. Combine that with high-tech video mapping, stage effects and dramatic background music and you have a winner.
While it was geared towards kids, the adults will also enjoy this spectacular live stage. Expect the series’ major characters, drama, action and the humour we loved in The LEGO Movie.
Kids (aged 2 – 12) can even get 50% off with any paying adult when decked out in Ninja gear from 28 August till 30 September 2015. Looks like there will be some extra cash for a new Ninjago set!
