Mondrian will be making its Southeast Asian debut in Singapore in the first quarter of 2023. Mondrian is part of Ennismore, a creative hospitality company of 14 brands rooted in culture and community that was formed in 2021 as a joint venture with Accor, which holds a majority shareholding.
Mondrian Singapore Duxton is currently under construction. I’ve walked past the site located opposite Shake Shack at the corner of Neil Road and Craig Road and been monitoring the construction which is making good progress. It sits on the land where Chinatown Point used to be and will add a touch of class and flair to the neighbourhood of restaurants, bars and nightlife.
The hotel will house 302 guestrooms and shophouse suites, a cinematic rooftop pool and eclectic restaurants and bars. The design is inspired by the heritage conservation area’s traditional architecture. Immersive installations and a contemporary collection of local and international artwork will create a space to connect and broaden horizons.
The Dutch painter Piet Mondrian himself was an artist who shocked the world with his minimalist take on the Cubist era. The Mondrian brand has always sought to provoke and surprise through creating the extraordinary. With its flair for the unexpected, bold design and electric energy, Mondrian will offer guests a distinctly different hotel experience in Singapore.
“With creativity and purpose at the heart of everything we do, the debut of Mondrian Singapore Duxton marks a significant milestone in our introduction of the Mondrian guest journey across Asia Pacific,” said Mr Chadi Farhat, Chief Operating Officer of Mondrian at Ennismore. “Our team of dreamers could not have asked for a better launchpad than Singapore, given its acclaimed reputation as a leading commercial and travel destination within the region, to let their imaginations run wild.”
