MGallery will join Sofitel brand as MGallery by Sofitel from 1 April 2016. MGallery and Sofitel are both brands of Accorhotels which also has under its umbrella Pullman, Grand Mercure, The Sebel, Novotel, Suite Novotel, Mercure, Mama Sdhelter, Adagio, ibis, ibis Styles, ibis budget, hotelf1 and Thalassa sea and spa.
MGallery by Sofitel is positioned as an intimate collection of boutique hotels with own thoughtful stories. Each hotel in the collection is noted for its unique personality and local flavour.
MGallery hotels are inspired by one of the three typical atmospheres of the Collection:
- Heritage – places filled with history or reflect an aesthetic universe
- Signature – personality that contributed to their creation or decoration
- Serenity – in a natural or urban retreat
Reasons cited by Accorhotels for the rebrand include making MGallery and luxury upscale hotel under the Sofitel brand:
- Sofitel’s high level of awareness and perception in key countries can increase the MGallery brand equity
- Enlarge and densify Sofitel brand’s territory
- Discreet exposure of Sofitel
- Building a more consistent collection with network rationalisation

The collection is expected to grow to 100 properties by 2016 with seven new properties expected to open this year in Israel, Italy, UK, China, Thailand and Australia.
