The new Mercure Bali Legian had its soft opening last night and we got a preview of the latest Accor-branded property. The new four storey four-star hotel is located in the heart of the Legian area at a strategic intersection that brings you to Legian, Kuta and Seminyak.
In just 20 minutes by car from Ngurah Rai International Airport, you would be able to get to the hotel. From the hotel, you can walk to Seminyak, Legian or Kuta Beach in five minutes.
The Mercure Bali Legian joins three other Mercure properties in Bali including the 189-room Mercure Resort Sanur, 130-room Mercure Kuta Bali and the 167-room Mercure Bali Kuta Harvestland. It is Accor group of hotels 17th property in Bali.
Mercure Bali Legian features 321 rooms and suites comprising 62 Superior King, 113 Superior Twin Beds, 80 Deluxe King Bed with Private Balcony, 40 Deluxe Twin Beds with Private Balcony, two Junior Suite King Bed, 5 Executive Suites with Private Balcony and 19 Deluxe King Bed with Private Plunge Pool. The superior and deluxe rooms are 28sqm whereas the rest of the room categories are from 40 to 54sqm.
The designers of the rooms have thoughtfully included electrical sockets (both International as well as Indonesian two round-pin sockets) by the bedside so you don’t have to be separated from your smartphone or tablet. The hotel also offers all its guests free Wi-Fi in the rooms as well as public areas.
Throughout the hotel you would get a consistent white and pastel colour theme which is pleasing to the eyes giving a clean yet refreshing feel. Even the colour of the bed top lamp is coordinated with the room walls.
If you prefer the privacy of your own plunge pool, there’s the Deluxe King Bed rooms with Private Plunge Pool. The spacious room offers 40sqm of space. The bathroom offers a separate shower and toilet with generous amenities provide. Until more foliage and cover is provide, I am pretty sure you would not be able to skinny dip at the moment.
The room with the largest bathroom that provides you the comfort and relaxation of a bath tub where you could soak and relax those aching muscles after a long day of water sports, shopping or wine and dining in Bali would have to be the Executive Suite with Balcony Private Balcony. In fact it is the only room type that offers a bath tub.
Taking up 40 to 43 sqm of space, this room offers a home away from home without compromising on space. The bathroom looks out into the bedroom towards the balcony through a glass above the bed.
There are two pools in the Mercure Bali Legian. The bigger of the two in on the ground floor next to Ancak Restaurant and Lounge which serves Balinese, Asian and European fare. Be sure to admire the beautiful Ancak (Ficus Rumphi BI) tree with its convoluted trunks. It is a sight to behold.
Other facilities in the hotel include a Spa and Fitness Centre, Kids Club, Business Centre and 24 hour in room dining.
The Mercure Bali Legian can accommodate tour groups as well as for meetings. It has three meeting rooms measuring 48 to 50sqm which can accommodate from 20 to 66 people.
