Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will add a new daily flight MH623 from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore and MH624 returning back to Kuala Lumpur. MH623 departs KUL from 28 October at 1.20pm and arrives in SIN at 2.15pm. MH624 departs SIN at 3.25pm and arrives in KUL at 4.25pm.
As part of the airline’s expansion plans, Malaysia Airlines will increase capacity and frequency regionally and add new international destinations. It recently launched flights to Dubai and Kochi.
Asia
MAS has increased capacity to Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei by 11% with the B737-800 series aircraft on 15 August. MAS has also added a third daily flight from Kuala Lumpur to Medan, Indonesia from 15 September, offering 6,720 seats weekly.
Australia
From 21 November, MAS will operate 18 flights between Kuala Lumpur and Sydney, Australia and increase that to 21 from 5 February next year.
An additional flight to Melbourne, Australia will be added to the current two flights from 21 November. MH147 will depart Kuala Lumpur at 7.50pm daily arriving in Melbourne at 6.45am the following day. MH146 will depart Melbourne at 8.55am and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 2.15pm the same day.
MAS will introduce flights between Kuala Lumpur and Darwin, Australia in November this year.
Passenger Traffic in 2013
MAS has reported and increase in passenger traffic this year matching the added capacity. Seat load improvements registered 83.3% in July this year which is a 9.1% increase from the previous year.
