Malaysia Airlines received its 100th Boeing 737 aircraft on 19 December 2014. The beleaguered airline took delivery of the next-generation Boeing 737-800 and has flown to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last Sunday. It also has another 10 737-800s on order.

Malaysia Airlines took delivery of its first 737, a 737-200 in 1972 and has operated the 200, 300, 400, 500 and 800 series of the 737 family. It also operates the 747-400s and 777-200ERs in its fleet.

The 737-800 features the Boeing Sky Interior with larger pivoting overhead stowage bins, larger window reveals and LED lighting to enhance the sense of spaciousness. Malaysia Airlines was the Asia launch customer for the Boeing Sky Interior.
