5 April 2012, Seoul, South Korea – Korean Air implements SkyPriority, the first-of-its-kind concept in the industry and also the first alliance-wide (SkyTeam), red-carpet treatment for all 15 SkyTeam member airlines’ top customers.
Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers of the 15 SkyTeam member airlines will enjoy SkyPriority benefits which include:
· Priority check-in areas
· Priority baggage drop-off
· Priority service at airport ticket offices
· Priority service at transfer desks
· Priority lines at security, where available
· Priority boarding
· Priority baggage handling
China Airlines, SkyTeam’s newest member airline, launched the programme on 1 March 2012 at Taipei International Airport. Other hubs implemented this shortly throughout the month, such as Amsterdam, Paris CDG, Atlanta, Guangzhou, Rome, Nairobi and Seoul among many others.
SkyPriority will be gradually rolled-out at more than 800 airports around the world this year and over 1,000 airports in 2013.
Now that SkyTeam’s network is close to completion, with the addition of three new carriers to the alliance in 2012, SkyTeam’s main focus is on enhancing the customer experience.
SkyPriority services will be distinctively branded at airports worldwide and the SkyPriority indicator will be displayed on eligible passengers’ boarding passes.
