Jetstar is the third airline after Singapore Airlines and Scoot to unveil a special SG50 livery on its existing Airbus A330-200 (aircraft registration 9V-JSH), in celebration of Singapore’s Golden Jubilee this year. Jetstar has a more whimsical and vibrant approach on the design for this livery created by local artist Michael Ng, while featuring 50 faces of everyday Singaporean & unsung heroes in this heartfelt masterpiece.

The distinctive bright, whimsical, popart style livery takes its inspiration from the black-naped oriole bird, a common garden bird in Singapore. The tenacious bird has adapted well to city life, now thriving, and due to its beauty has been featured on currency and stamps throughout Singapore’s history.

Along with the bird, it carries the faces of local heroes come from all walks of life. They include a professional who has given up a comfortable job in Singapore to help the poor in Cambodia; a single mum who has not returned back home to Singapore for many years due to financial issues, and a kind lady who gives her all to care of the lonely and sick elderly living on their own. Jetstar Asia CEO Barathan Pasupathi said that he was moved by the stories of all the winners and the design on the livery is a gift to the people of Singapore. He also mentioned that this special SG50 A320 aircraft will be flying across 22 destinations across Asia to show the world the spirit of the people of Singapore.
