Hyatt understands its customers and recently announced its plans to offer free Wi-Fi at all Hyatt hotels worldwide. No strings attached. How you book your stay or whether you are a Hyatt Gold Passport member does not matter. Free for all hotel guests, that’s just it.
Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond and Platinum tier members will be upgraded to the premium Wi-Fi service which offers higher speed.
“Internet connectivity is no longer an amenity. It has become an integral part of travellers’ daily lives and a basic expectation,” said Kristine Rose, vice president of brands for Hyatt. “Travellers shouldn’t have to remember which brands or locations offer it for free or the strings attached to get it.”
Internet connectivity has become a hygiene factor for hotel guests. And offering free Wi-Fi has become important to leisure and business customers. The need to freely connect anytime and anywhere is how people operate these days.
Just a few days before Hyatt made this announcement, Starwood also made a similar Wi-Fi announcement for its properties globally except that it was only for customers who book through Starwood’s channels and also have to be a Starwood Preferred Guest member.
In Singapore, we recently checked out ibis Bencoolen and Hotel Jen Orchard Gateway and they offer free high speed Wi-Fi to all guests.
