Garuda Indonesia is increasing capacity on its Jakarta – Singapore route using a larger capacity aircraft from 6 November 2013.

Garuda Indonesia Deploys Airbus A330 Aircraft

Garuda Indonesia currently operates the 162 seater Boeing 737-800 aircraft on its nine daily flights between the two cities.  The 222-seater Airbus A330-200 aircraft will be deployed on certain flights increasing the capacity of each flight by 37% – GA829 departs Singapore at 12.20pm while GA837 departs at 8.20pm; from Jakarta, GA826 will depart at 8.35am and GA 834 at 4.30pm.

The airline expects to adjust the flight capacity again in November to meet projected passenger demand.  Two daily A332 flights will be replaced by the bigger 257-seater Airbus A330-300 aircraft and another two daily return B737-800 services will be operated on the A332 aircraft.

The airline will also be moving its check in services at Changi Airport Terminal 3 from the existing Row 1 to a more centrally located Row 5 from 25 September 2013.

Singapore is the airline’s busiest destination outside of Indonesia with 80 weekly flights from Singapore to four Indonesian destinations – Bali, Jakarta, Balikpapan and Surabaya.
