Come 5 April 2016, Fiji Airways will operate a twice-weekly flight between Nadi and Singapore. Operating a 273-seat Airbus A330 aircraft in a two-class configuration with 24 Business Class seats and 249 Economy Class seats, Fiji Airways’ flight will take 10 hours.
Fiji Airways business class features 60″ pitch, lie flat eight degree bed, in-seat video with 15.4″ monitors, in-seat power and entertainment on demand. In Economy class, the seats are 31-32″ pitch with 7.5″ recline, 10.6″ in-seat video monitors and in-seat USB power. The airline has a fleet of three Airbus A330-200, four Boeing 737-800 and one Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The smaller aircraft including two ATR72-600s, one ATR42-600 and three Twin Otters are operated by Fiji Link.
The flight will depart Fiji late at night and arrive in Singapore in the morning.
This will be Singapore’s first direct flight to Nadi. Currently flights to Nadi require a stop over in Sydney with Singapore Airlines or Qantas and in Auckland with Air New Zealand and transfer flights on Fiji Airways. The new direct flight will save at least three hours compared to the options now.
Changi Airport will provide European and Asian passengers direct and quick access to Fiji. Fiji Airways will in turn offer connections to other exotic Pacific Islands including Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu.
Fiji is popular for its white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, soft coral diving and luxurious resorts in over 300 tropical islands.
