Escape the bustling city and head to Jiabei Country Park to witness the ethereal beauty of pink muhly grass (粉黛) fields. Located just under an hour’s drive away from Shanghai’s city centre, his cotton-candy-like landscape is perfect for a peaceful stroll or snapping Instagram-worthy photos, especially in autumn when the grass is in full bloom.
Spanning around 100 acres, Jiabei Country Park boasts 40 acres of pink muhly grass, complemented by 10 acres of roses and 80 acres of other seasonal flora. While roses flourish in spring, the pink muhly grass steals the show in autumn.
The park is said to be most popular in the afternoon, around 3 pm, when the sunlight enhances the experience beautifully. However, we opted to visit early in the morning and arrived just as the park opened at 8 am, enjoying the rare tranquility of being the only two visitors.
Jiabei Country Park is a huge park. Make sure you plan your day nearer to the Muhly Grass exhibit area at Gate 3. Entrance to the park is free but there is a CNY35 entrance fee to the Muhly Grass exhibit.
Disney Store in Pudong
The Pudong Shanghai Disney Store is a must-visit destination for Disney fans and families exploring the city. It offers an enchanting shopping experience in the heart of Lujiazui. Located on the ground floor of a residential building, the restaurant features a modest exterior that quickly attracts a crowd during peak dining hours. Inside, the décor is simple with limited seating, so be prepared for a queue. Service is semi-self-serve—you place your order, and the dishes are brought to your table. Be sure to try the unlimited seaweed soup, a light and umami-packed option to balance the bold flavours of the noodles.
Among the standout dishes, the Pork Liver and Kidney Stirred Noodles is a must-try, featuring generous portions of tender pork liver and expertly prepared kidney, all coated in a rich, savoury sauce. For those who enjoy pork intestines, the Pork Large Intestines Noodles is another delectable choice.
With its no-frills charm and authentic flavours, Fu He Mian Guan offers a true taste of local dining culture that is not to be missed.

With an average cost of ¥98 per person, Xie Shang Huang offers excellent value for its authentic dishes. Due to its popularity, it is advisable to book in advance or visit during off-peak hours to avoid queues.
