Etihad Airways Launches Mobile Boarding Pass

Etihad Airways at Aerobridge in Brisbane Airport

Etihad Airways introduces mobile boarding passes on some routes to reduce paper consumption and the risk of losing boarding passes. This facility is available for travellers flying from Abu Dhabi, London Heathrow, Manchester, Doha, Colombo, Dammam, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Sao Paulo, Istanbul, Minsk, Munich and Tokyo Narita.

The new mobile boarding passes will contain the same information as the traditional paper passes  including guest name, seat number, flight number, gate number and a barcode which will be scanned by an electronic reader at the departure gate.

Customers will be able to receive their mobile boarding passes directly to the smart phone, or save them in the Passbook feature on an iOS device, or save and send them to an email address.

Etihad Airways will equip more airport gateways with this the new technology across its global network.
