Etihad Airways has launched a new range of ‘Etihad Explorers’ children’s activity packs and a Flying Nanny Kit to keep the kids occupied and happy while on board.
A new collectible character bag for three to eight year olds flying into Abu Dhabi now comes with an activity booklet, crayons, card games and a colour-in mask. If you are flying from Abu Dhabi, a unique suitcase board game lets you play together with your children. It also comes with a foam lion character, colour-in postcards, crayons and a handy waterproof travel wallet.
Etihad Airways has gotten this well thought out with different packs for in bound and out bound flights so children are kept well entertained on both journeys.
For the older kids aged nine to 13, their pack will contain Sudoku, mazes, lined notes and join-the-dot games. An Abu Dhabi-themed pencil case, pencil, a dual function bookmark and ruler as well as a notepad is also being offered.
The airline’s inflight entertainment system, E-BOX also offers a range of films, television programmes, games and child-friendly albums and CDs in its ‘Just 4 Kids’ section.
Long haul flights are staffed by a Flying Nanny who is trained by UK’s world renowned Norland College. The provide an extra pair of hands and allow parents more personal time while the Flying Nannies entertain their children.
The New Flying Nanny Kit allows the nanny and child to interact more. It contains fun items such as Origami, games, pom poms, flight certificates, tools for magic tricks and face-painting, as well as a ‘Flying Nanny stamp of approval’ which the nanny can use to reward children during their in-flight activities.
Milk Jnr’s & Kidworks, a UK-headquartered agency which specialises in creating engaging kids activity packs for some of the world’s biggest family brands including TUI, Morrisons, Carluccio’s, the National Trust and ZSL London Zoo has partnered with Etihad Airways’ Flying Nannies and the airline’s product development team to come up with these new kits. Four of the airline’s existing characters – Kundai the Lion, Zoe the Bee, Jamool the Camel and Boo the Panda have also been incorporated and re-illustrated in the project.
A children’s menu will be launched in December focusing on healthy choices for younger fliers.
