Etihad Flight College Receives First Embraer Phenom 100E
Etihad Flight College has taken delivery of its first of four Embraer Phenom 100E, a twin jet training aircraft, making it the first flight school in the world to use this aircraft type in the initial phase of flight training. It will begin service with the flight college in July 2016. The second aircraft will be delivered later this month and two other to be delivered in early 2017. Students on the Multi-Crew Pilot License course will fly the Phenom 100E.
Once delivered, the four new Embraer Phenom 100E will bring the trainer fleet to 22 aircraft including 10 Cessna 172SP Skyhawk, six Diamond DA42NG and two EXTRA 300 aircraft.
The aircraft arrived at the flight college’s base in Al Ain following a marathon 10 day voyage from Embraer’s manufacturing base in São José dos Campos in Brazil. The 18 sector route commanded by Etihad Flight College’s MPL Programme Manager, Senior First Officer Timothy Schoenauer, flew through two Caribbean Islands, Florida, Virginia, Maine, Newfoundland, Greenland, Iceland, Belfast, Amsterdam, Italy, Greece, Egypt and Saudi Arabia before arriving at Al Ain.
