Emirates launched its inaugural daily direct service between Dubai and Boston today. Boston is the airline’s eighth American destination (Washington, Houston, Dallas, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles) and the 142nd on its global network across six continents.
EK237, a Boeing 777-200LR with a three-class configuration departed from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport at 9.45 am. It carried Tim Clark, President of Emirates; Adel Al Redha, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President Commercial Operations West; and Hiran Perera, Emirates’ Senior Vice President Cargo and Freighters and other VIPs.
The daily flights offer eight seats in First Class, 42 in Business Class and 216 in Economy class. Besides passengers, Emirates SkyCargo will operate bellyhold cargo space to transport up to 15 tonnes of goods to and from Boston daily.
EK237 departs Dubai at 9.45am and arrives in Boston at 3.15pm. The return flight EK238 will depart Boston at 11.15pm and arrive in Dubai at 7.30p the next day.
