Emirates and Jetstar Airways in Australia in Australia and New Zealand and Jetstar Asia go into a codeshare agreement to open up new destinations for Emirates passengers across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. The Emirates code will not be placed on a number of routes operated by Jetstar. 27 new routes and six new destinations including Bali in Indonesia, Byron Bay in Australia, Dunedin in New Zealand and Siem Reap in Cambodia.
The codeshare includes seven domestic routes in Australia to add to the 50 that Emirates already codeshares with Qantas, the conerstone investor of the Jetstar Group; four new routes in New Zealand, six new routes between Australian and New Zealand over the Tasman Sea and ten international routes out of Singapore to Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong.
Emirates Skywards members will also be able to earn miles for flights on Jetstar-operated routes which have the Emirates code. They can also redeem their miles for reward flights on any Jetstar route from just 7,025 Skyward Miles from 1 March 2014. Jetstar Pacific flights are excluded.
Emirates customers travelling on Jetstar will enjoy full service fare features such as food and beverage options and the same luggage allowance they would have on Emirates.
Emirates/Jetstar codeshare itineraries will be on sale from today for travel from 6 April 2014.
