Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts unveiled the next generation guest room. The bed will be angled to reduce noise levels so that hotel guests can get a good night’s rest. This is be the first change in 60 years since standardised guest room dimensions were introduced by Kemmons Wilson, the founder of the Holiday Inn brand.
Guests can soon move freely between three key areas in the room – a cocooned bed, a flexible ‘nook’ and a streamlined workspace.
There are three key benefits to the new room layout.
REST – a padded, curved headboard accompanies the bed, along with insulated wall panels on each side of the room. This reduces noise levels so that you can get a better sleep
CONNECTIVITY – the ‘nook’ area offers multi-purpose and comfortable space to hold informal meetings, doubling as an area to socialise and relax away from the traditional workspace
SPACE – a dedicated, multi-purpose workspace offers a clutter free surface with accessible outlets and adjustable lighting.
The Crowne Plaza Atlanta Midtown will be the first to get the new guest room in 2015.
