Always rushing to the boarding gate without any time to enjoy the world class facilities at Singapore Changi Airport or take a stroll in its gorgeous gardens?
Changi Airport has been voted the World’s Best Airport by air travellers for two consecutive years at the 2014 World Airport Awards this year. There’s no reason why Changi Airport shouldn’t be the World’s Best Airport with all the facilities and convenience for the customer in mind.
If you do not whizz in and out of the airport as often as our editor does, why not try to check-in a couple of hours earlier for your next trip to explore the different terminals and begin your holiday even before your flight takes off. Here you can get information about the early check-in times for different airlines operating from Changi Airport.
Selfies & Photography
It is passé to take picture of your boarding pass to inform your friends on social media that you are about to fly off. Get creative and use the lovely backdrops in the airport terminals and grab a few cool shots for the “announcement” that will garner more LIKES.
Free Movies & Entertainment Centers
If you prefer to sit down and do your own things, there are many free-to-use areas at Changi Airport such as the Internet Kiosks, Movie Theatres, Entertainment and Gaming Centers.
Dining
If you need a drink or some food, here are some of my recommendations. La Cave Wine bar & Restaurant at Terminal 1 is the rare alfresco dining with a great view from the Cactus Garden, with reasonably priced decent bar food.
For longer trips out of Singapore, I will always savour a bowl of comfort food – Minced Pork Noodle from Food Court at Terminal 2. A good selection of wines can be found at Harry’s Wine Bar at Terminal 3 and they even offers premium wine at per glass.
Art Appreciation
While walking around in Terminal 3, do look out for the art installations and exhibits. The huge feature wall art, “Birds In Flight” by local artist Baet Yeok Kuan, inspired from bird migration signifies the connection of hearts from people who lives thousands of miles apart. And at the Arrival hall, “Coming Home” by renowned China artist Han Meilin, signifies the warmth and safety we get from our homes.
Getting Around
Getting from one terminal to the other is easy with the Sky Trains and if you are lost, there will be many friendly & resourceful Changi Experience Agents roving around the airport to help you find your way.
Changi Airport is the world’s fifth busiest airport for international traffic and has served a record 53.7 million passengers in 2013. The three terminals offer more than 350 retail stores and 120 food and beverage outlets. As of 1 May 2014, over 100 airlines provide connectivity to 270 cities in 60 countries and territories worldwide from Changi Airport. Some 6,600 flights are operated from Changi every week.
