9 August 2012, Beijing, China – Cebu Pacific announced its intention to sell its entire fleet of 10 x Airbus A319 aircraft with deliveries over a 15 month period from March 2013 to Allegiant Travel Company.
The Airbus A319s are Cebu Pacific’s oldest and smallest jet aircraft which has served the airline in the past six years. Cebu Pacific currently operates 10 Airbus A319, 20 Airbus A320 and 8 ATR-72 500 aircraft. They are trading up the 10 Airbus A319s to the 15 new Airbus A320 and 4 Airbus A330 aircraft between now till 2014 to accommodate the growing demand for air travel and better operational efficiency.
Cebu Pacific plans to begin long haul services in quarter three of 2013 with the delivery of up to eight Airbus A330 aircraft which has a range of up to 11 hours. This will allow Cebu Pacific to serve markets including Australia, Middle East, parts of Europe and the US.
Between 2012 and 2013, Cebu Pacific will take delivery of 22 more Airbus A320 and 30 Airbus A321 neo aircraft orders.
