Self Service Bag Drop at Hong Kong International Airport is now possible to certain destinations when you fly with Cathay Pacific and Dragonair. This self-service service was introduced 1 April 2016 and includes printing your baggage tag, tagging it to your luggage and dispatching your luggage.Once you have checked in either online, at the airport check in counters or the self-service check in kiosks, you can drop off your bag using the Self Service Bag Drop facility. This saves you time.

Five Self Service Bag Drop machines are now operational at Cathay Pacific counters in Aisle C at Hong Kong International Airport and four more are located at Dragonair counters in Aisle H.

Self Service Bag Drop Service

  • Step 1: Pull your Bag on the Belt
  • Step 2: Scan your boarding pass
  • Step 3: Follow the instructions on the screen and read a few baggage rules and restrictions
  • Step 4: Print the baggage tag
  • Step 5: Tag your bag
  • Step 6: Remember to take the claim tag

This service is in its initial stages and available on selected flights from Hong Kong –

  • Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers on Cathay Pacific to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore
  • Economy Class passengers on Dragonair to Chiang Mai, Fukuoka, Kota Kinabalu, Okinawa, Penang and Phuket.

This service to more routes will be introduced in phases.

Following this rollout, Cathay Pacific will be introducing Self Service Bag Drop facility for passengers in Amsterdam and Singapore.
