A spa treatment before a flight is a perfect way to pamper yourself. Well, that’s if you are not in a rush.
Qantas offers its first class customers a tranquil environment for a quick 20 minute spa treatment before your next flight. Tucked all the way inside the Qantas First lounge in Sydney Kingsford Airport after the food spread and dining area, you can then relax into a ‘garden’ where real plants fill the walls of this treatment room I visited last year. There is also a shower room within the treatment room for your convenience.
The reviving neck, shoulder and scalp massage helped me to loosen the knots from the frequent flying though I wish I had more time for a full one our massage.
The garden environment takes your mind off the stress of flying and huge jets and the myriad of people in the airport. Qantas recently switched in June this year to a bespoke product range by Australian-owned spa provider Aurora Spa from Payot. The Aurora Spa Rituals range is free from parabens, sulphates, mineral oils, lanolin and artificial colours.
The Aurora Spa Rituals handwash, hand cream, body cleanser, shampoo and conditioner is also available in the bathrooms at Qantas Sydney and Melbourne International Business Lounges as well as Hong Kong and Singapore lounges.
A variety of spa treatments ranging from back massages; a neck, shoulder and scalp massage; foot or hand therapy and facials are available to choose from.
Qantas First customers are given a call the day before they fly to choose their spa treatment as well as preferred time. Qantas Platinum and Platinum One members as well as oneworld Emerald members can also visit the spa on a first-come-first serve basis. You may want to book your treatment first thing you arrive at the lounge to avoid disappointment.
(Editor’s note: Spa treatment rooms are dimly lit and relaxing. Flash was used to capture the photos in this article)
