13 March 2012, Kuala Lumpur – As part of AirAsia’s realignment of its network to focus on its core markets, AirAsia X will suspend its services to Christchurch (CHC), New Zealand announcing its last flights on 30 May 2012 (from Kuala Lumpur) and 31 May 2012 (from Christchurch). AirAsia X currently flies three times a week between Kuala Lumpur and Christchurch.
If you have booked flights on this route after end of May 2012, you have the option of a full refund, a reroute to another AirAsia X destination such as Australia to Kuala Lumpur or Kuala Lumpur to North Asia, or rebook a return flight before 31 May 2012. AirAsia X will waive any additional cot to effect any changes. Affected guests will be receiving an email with the available options.
AirAsia X has also recently suspended its European and Indian routes earlier this year. The airline has realigned its core markets to Australia, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Iran.
