AirAsia will be introducing direct flights from Singapore to two new popular beach getaway cities, Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu from 21 and 22 April 2014 respectively.

At Kota Bharu, you can visit the Perhentian Islands for diving. Perhentian is a short 1 1/2 hour bus or taxi ride to Kuala Besut. From there, take a 30-minute speedboat ride to the islands.  We visited Perhentian Islands some years back. Check out our article on that here. And if you like to learn how to dive,  check out our SSI Open Water course with Simply Scuba here.

At Kuala Trengganu, you can get to the well-known beach paradise known for its sandy beaches and clear waters, Redang Island. Take a bus or taxi from the airport to Merang Jetty to catch the ferry to Redang Island which takes approximately 40 minutes.

AirAsia flight AK914 departs Singapore at 9.10am for Kota Bharu at 10.30am on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sunday. Flight AK902 departs Singapore at 9.10am from Singapore and arrives in Kuala Terengganu at 10.35am on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Return flights from Kota Bharu on AK915 leave at 11.40am arriving in Singapore at 1pm while AK903 departs Kuala Terengganu at 11.35pm and arrives in Singapore at 1pm.

The airline is offering S$0 base fares one way on any of these two new flights if you book by 16 February 2014 and travel to Kota Bharu from 21 April to 25 October 2014 or to Kuala Terengganu from 22 April to 25 October 2014.
