AirAsia introduces Miri (Sarawak) route and Increases Malaysia – Singapore Flights

8, November 2010, Sepang, Malaysia – Low Cost Carrier AirAsia will enhance connectivity from Singapore with the introduction of its new route to Miri, Sarawak; and increased frequencies to Kuala Lumpur and Penang at 124 times weekly.

To celebrate the new addition to AirAsia’s route network, you can enjoy special low fares from Singapore to Miri from SGD39* one way. This promotion will be from 11 – 21 November 2010 for the travel period of 21 January – 30 June 2011.

AirAsia has also made it more convenient for guests to travel to Penang and Kuala Lumpur from Singapore with its additional frequencies. Flights from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur has been increased to 10x daily effective 17 December 2010, while a 3rd frequency from Singapore to Penang has been introduced effective 21 January 2011. The AirAsia app is available for download via Blackberry App World and the Android Market by searching for the keyword ‘AirAsia’. iPhone users are able to purchase flights by logging into airasia.com on their web browser, while an official iPhone AirAsia app is on the way.

With this new route, Singapore is now connected to six cities in Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, and now Miri. Guests traveling to and from Singapore will also have added convenience with the increased frequencies to Kuala Lumpur and Penang as there are more options on flight timing.”

Miri, situated north of the state of Sarawak offers nature lovers, beach bums and holiday-makers many treats. It is only approximately 2 hours’ drive away from Brunei. Nature lovers can explore Gua Niah, a majestic limestone cave and an important pre-historical site with the oldest recorded human settlement in East Malaysia which dates back to over 40,000 years ago.
