Air Canada took delivery of its first of 37 Boeing 787 Dreamliners on order yesterday, becoming the first Canadian airline to fly the Dreamliner. It expects to take delivery of the rest of the 787s by 2019.
Air Canada will operate the 787 on the Toronto – Tel Aviv routes and a new destination Tokyo Haneda Airport. With 20% more fuel efficient than similar-sized airplanes, the 787 will replace Air Canada’s fleet. Air Canada’s 787 will come with the airline’s new International Business Class cabin with 20 seats, 21 in Premium Economy and 210 in Air Canada Economy.
