At the recent Xbox E3 briefing, Microsoft Corp announced the Xbox One X (aka Project Scorpio). It claimed that it is the world’s most powerful console which comes with a hefty price tag of S$699 when it arrives in Singapore this year. That’s a whopping S$200 more than the latest Xbox One S which comes bundled with a game and S$100 more than Sony’s Playstation Pro.
So we consolidated the key features of the new Xbox One X below for you to decide if it is worth your investment on the gaming console:
World’s Most Powerful Console
Packed with a 6 Teraflop GPU clocked at 1.172GHz, 12GB of GDDR5 memory and 326GB/s of memory bandwidth, the Xbox One X is 40% more power than any other console. It can run games at True 4K in 60fps with HDR, wide colour gamut and Premium Dolby Atmos sound. It can even replace your Blu-ray player as it can playback 4K UHD Blu-ray movies.
The new Scorpio processor is so powerful that it even has a Liquid-cooled Vapor Chamber to cool down the chip. That’s a first in gaming consoles.
The Smallest Xbox Console Ever
To make things even more attractive, the Xbox One X is not just a high-performance console, but it is also the smallest Xbox to be built. So you do not need to worry about how to fit a chunky & odd shaped console into any stylish interior.
Not Into 4K? Full HD Will Look Better!
Even if you do not own a 4K TV, with supersampling your games will look more crisp and better even on a Full HD 1080p TV. So you need not rush to buy a 4K TV just for the new console!
Compatibility With All Things Xbox One
And all your Xbox One accessories will work on the new console and your old games will have a faster loading time too.
Xbox will expand the Xbox One backward compatibility library of nearly 400 popular Xbox 360 games to include original Xbox classics, starting with fan favourite “Crimson Skies.” Xbox also revealed that “Gears of War 4,” “Forza Horizon 3,” “Minecraft,” “Resident Evil 7,” “Final Fantasy 15,” “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands,” “Rocket League” and dozens of other popular Xbox One games will receive free updates to take full advantage of the power of Xbox One X. A host of these titles will be enhanced to run in true 4K, and many will be available at the Xbox One X launch.
