February 16, 2012 – If you’re familiar with sending text messages or making calls through mobile phone apps such as Skype, Viber or Tango, then you probably heard of the Vonage mobile app for iPhone which was launched in August last year. Now this app is also available for Android.
You can make free high-definition calls and send free texts to other users of the app, worldwide over Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G wireless data networks.
The app also let’s you communicate with friends who do not use the app at an average of 70% less than your mobile network or 30% less than Skype.
Calling credits can be purchased from the app through iTunes or Android Market in increments of US$4.99 and US$9.99.
The app retrieves your phone’s existing mobile number and contact list saving you the trouble of typing in the number again.
For a limited time, calls to any phone in the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico from anywhere in the world will be free.
Users do NOT need to be a Vonage customer to use the app. However, as an added benefit to all app users, calls to Vonage home or business lines are also free.
