The Taptl Noir 46 has already been purchased by Lockheed-Martin, Nike and Tokyo University prior to the worldwide availability and distribution. Taptl has spent over three years to develop the Taptl 46. Taptl partners Billionaires Row Technologies to penetrate vast consumer, industrial, financial, entertainment, business and investment markets that will use this technological achievement. Samsung and others are investigating the technological synergies.
We spoke with Jeremiah Patterson, the founder of Taptl Ltd and got some basic information about the product.
- There is no “alpha” channel. Anything that shows as the colour ‘white’ is transparent. Anything ‘black’ is completely opaque
- The user can adjust the backlight, which effects the level of transparency for different lighting conditions. No worries if the display is indoors or in a high-sunlight area as it is completely lighting agnostic
- The display frame and base is made of solid aluminum (anodized black) – not plastic. This adds great durability to the display
- The display can be sealed so it is IP65-compliant – meaning it is weatherproof and vandal resistant
- The display uses an ‘external’ media box, so the client can choose any type of input method: HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, etc
- The display and touchscreen capability works on all major operating systems. Mac OSX, Windows 7/8, Android, Linux, and coming soon to iOS
