27 February 2012, Barcelona – At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona today, Sony unveiled the latest addition to its next generation smartphones, Xperia NXT series – the P & U models.
Sales for the earlier announced Sony Xperia S was kicked off in the Sony Style store in Barcelona during MWC and also shipping to markets worldwide, as for Sony Xperia P & U it will only be available globally in second quarter this year.
The new Sony Xperia P & U takes the design and form of Sony Xperia S which was announced in Januasy 2012, from the looks we can only tell that the difference is size. Overall, Sony Xperia S is the more supreme model, the only one out of the three with a HD 720p display, a 12 megapixel camera with f2.4, a powerful processor, PlayStation certified smartphone… etc.
The Sony Xperia P is a mid range smartphone and the only one that uses the new Sony WhiteMagic technology that make sure the phone display is still clear & sharp when use it under a hot sunny day.
Sony Xperia U is all about you being hip and trendy, with a changeable bottom cap to match what you wear. It also comes with colour-changing, illuminated transparent elements back up your favourite artists album art with matching colours when you browse through your music. And they change to match the shades in your photos too.
So to help in identifying the major differences between Sony Xperia S, P & U, here’s a specification list between the three models (look out for those highlighted in pink):
