1 February 2012, Singapore – Singapore Telecommunications launches a global cloud-based service that enables companies to secure, control and manage their corporate data and mobile devices of their employees anywhere in the world.

SingTel Mobility Device Manager (MDM) services allows companies to manage devices across various mobile operating systems and also ensures information security, be it company-issued or employee-owned devices.

There has been a surge in companies that allows employees to bring their own mobile devices for work. Use of smartphones for business activities world wide is projected to grow by 116% by 2014.

In the event of loss or theft on an employee’s mobile device, the company’s administrator can remotely lock the device or selectively erase corporate data to prevent market sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands.

Administrators can also determine the location of lost devices and remotely deploy and track application downloads within the enterprise. Configuration and provision of devices can also be done over-the-air.

Apps management and in_house apps publishing features allow companies to publish their in-house apps separately from public apps, ensuring only company employees have access to the company’s apps.

Company’s can also disable selected data-intensive applications in order to control and mange costs, especially when a user is roaming. Roaming alerts can be set to better manage roaming costs.

MDM is offered on a monthly subscription basis. There is no upfront investment in equipment required.
